Season 2 "Carnival Phantom" — Live May 21 – July 15, 2026 | Version 1.101
If you've read the beginner's guide and built your first team, this is your next step. We're going deep on the S2 meta, team archetypes, speed-tier fundamentals, and late-game resource efficiency.
S2 shifts the theme from S1's exploration-heavy vibe to a circus-carnival aesthetic with a mechanical-legendary centerpiece. Here's what matters for advanced players:
| Change | Why You Care |
|---|---|
| New Legendary: Circuit Ark (Machine-type) | Free from Chapter 1 quest — a potential meta staple with "assemble 3 blocks → act twice per turn" |
| Lucky Surprise Box replaces S1's Corruption mechanic | Chain-capture triggers a 3-box pick mini-game; box contents can include alternate-color (shiny) spirits |
| 11 new spirits | 1 legendary, 2 battle-pass picks, 8 season-encounter exclusives |
| Spirit Recall (Retrospect) | If a spirit gets balance-patched, you get 14 days to revert it and recover all invested resources |
| Home auto-farming | Spirits can now auto-water/fertilize your garden — minor but saves daily tedium |
| S1 tokens expire | Spend them before S2 day one or they convert to洛克贝 at a bad rate |
Disclaimer: The meta is still settling (S2 launched May 21). Rankings reflect S1 carryover data + early S2 tournament results. I'll update this section as the season matures.
| Tier | Spirits | Role |
|---|---|---|
| S | Pterosaur (翼龙), Royal Griffon (皇家狮鹫), Venomous Shura (厉毒修萝) | Must-build core pieces of the Wind Rise engine |
| A | Moonlight Pot (月亮砣), Crystal Jellyfish (琉璃水母), Phantom Spirit Mushroom (幻影灵菇), Blooming Flower (蹦蹦花), Fang Boar (獠牙猪) | Strong in specific archetypes; flexible plug-ins |
| B | Cold Sound Serpent (寒音蛇), Stone Crown Lizard (石冠王蜥), Flower Clothes Butterfly (花衣蝶) | Solid role players; meta-dependent |
| C | Everything else | Wait for buffs or niche counter-pick use |
| Tier | Spirits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| S | Luoyin (罗隐) | Infinite-sustain machine — 156 base ATK + "Greed" + "Deception" trait = solo most elite bosses |
| A | Blooming Flower, Phantom Spirit Mushroom, Circuit Ark | Consistent damage + party sustain |
| B | Anything with type advantage against the target boss | Fill slots based on elemental matchup |
The undisputed king of S2 ladder right now. The game plan:
Mark enemies → chip with entry hazards → set up your sweeper → go first and clean house.
Core lineup:
| Slot | Spirit | Job |
|---|---|---|
| Sweeper (Win-Con) | Pterosaur (翼龙) | Highest Speed stat in the format. Spam priority Wing Strike. If it moves first, it wins. |
| Flex Sweeper | Royal Griffon (皇家狮鹫) | Grass bloodline counters Bug teams. Cleanup when Pterosaur can't sweep. |
| Entry Hazard Setter | Venomous Shura (厉毒修萝) | Lead. Opens Wind Rise mark + poisons on switch-in. |
| Control / Chip | Cold Sound Serpent (寒音蛇) | Ice-type control. Punishes greedy switches. |
| Secondary Sweeper | Fang Boar (獠牙猪) | Earth/Rock crit build. Synergy with Dig. |
| Sustain | Blooming Flower (蹦蹦花) | Root Absorb → party-wide HP + energy regen keeps the engine running. |
How to pilot it:
Why it works: The mark system turns passive chip into real pressure. Opponents can't stall because every switch costs HP. The speed tier ensures your sweeper always has priority.
How to beat it (mirror / counter):
The answer to burst-heavy meta teams. Wins by making games long.
Stack poison stacks → convert enemy DoT into your healing → watch them crumble.
Core:
| Slot | Spirit | Job |
|---|---|---|
| Engine | Moonlight Pot (月亮砣) | Passive: enemy poison damage heals your team. This is the entire archetype. |
| Stacker | Crystal Jellyfish (琉璃水母) | Fastest poison-stack applier. Open with this. |
| Hybrid | Blooming Flower (蹦蹦花) | Damage + life drain. Fills gaps when poison isn't stacked yet. |
| Control | Butterfly Morph (化蝶) | Field control. Buys turns for poison to tick. |
| Tank | Stone Crown Lizard (石冠王蜥) | Absorbs hits, reflects damage. Stalls for poison. |
Matchup chart:
If you're free-to-play and don't want to chase meta, this is your home.
Recommended for: Players who hit Platinum/Diamond and need a reliable, low-investment ladder team.
This isn't really a "team" — it's Luoyin + 5 cheerleaders.
How to build it fast: Push main story until you unlock the Luoyin encounter zone, farm its spawn point, catch until you get at least A-rank IVs.
In Roco Kingdom: World PvP, who goes first usually wins. Unlike some turn-based games where bulk matters more, this game's damage-to-HP ratio means one priority move can delete a carry.
The Speed Tier mind-set:
Quick-reference Speed rankings (top meta-relevant):
| Rank | Spirit | Speed Stat | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Pterosaur | 130+ | King. Nothing out-speeds it naturally. |
| 2 | Royal Griffon | ~120 | Needs nature/IV investment to contest Pterosaur |
| 3 | Cold Sound Serpent | ~110 | Fast enough to disrupt most things |
| 4 | Fang Boar | ~95 | Mid-tier; relies on priority moves |
| 5 | Blooming Flower | ~80 | Slow. Don't try to race. |
Successfully predicting and countering an opponent's move refunds energy and triggers bonus effects. This is the skill-gap mechanic.
When to Counter:
When NOT to Counter:
Weather is currently under-explored in the ladder meta, which means someone will figure out a broken weather team mid-season. Pay attention.
| Attribute | Value |
|---|---|
| Type | Machine |
| Evolution | Uni-Clown → Machine Clown → Circus Clown King (3 stages) |
| How to get | Complete S2 Chapter 1 quest → free egg ("Tungsten Baby's Egg") |
| Core trait | Assemble Drive — After 3 "building block" stacks, your main carry acts twice per turn |
Verdict: The double-action mechanic has game-breaking potential. If it's consistent (not RNG-gated), Circuit Ark becomes a mandatory slot in any team that can fit it. Farm its ascension materials in the Lucky Wheel event (Days 2-3 of the season).
Build priority: Speed IVs → ATK/Special ATK (depends on final move pool) → HP
| Spirit | Type | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Boom Blast (爆焰喷喷) | Fire + Machine | Pick if you need offensive pressure. Has an alternate-color variant. Aggressive pick. |
| Snow Monster (雪怪) | Grass + Ice | Pick if you want disruption/control. Safer pick for balanced teams. |
Tiebreaker: If you already have a solid sweeper (Pterosaur, Griffon), take Snow Monster for role diversity. If you're F2P and lack a carry, Boom Blast fills the gap.
The S2 replacement for Corruption. Here's the optimal strategy:
Once you're past the early game, resource mistakes compound fast. Here's what to guard:
This is the most gated resource in the late game. It's used for personality (nature) rerolls, and it's scarce.
| Ball Type | Use For |
|---|---|
| Prism Ball (棱镜球) | 100% catch + high-IV guarantee. Save for legendary encounters. |
| King Ball (国王球) | Rarest ball. Only use on legendaries or confirmed shiny/special-color spirits. |
| Fun Ball (奇趣球) | Buy with洛克贝. 100% catch. Use for daily farming. |
